Intro
Not every “I love you” means safety. Sometimes the words sound sweet, but the actions tell a
different story. In The Unexpected Stranger, I shared what it felt like to love someone who
couldn’t love me back in the way I needed. The reality? Love alone cannot hold up a marriage or
relationship if it lacks honesty, respect, and healing. You can’t build a solid home on broken
bricks.
Love Without Wholeness
We’ve all been taught that love conquers all. But here’s the truth no one wants to say out loud:
love without wholeness is not enough.
When love is mixed with infidelity, emotional distance, or manipulation, it doesn’t heal—it
harms. You may find yourself pouring everything into keeping the relationship alive, but you
can’t out-love someone’s refusal to heal. Their broken patterns don’t get erased by your prayers,
your patience, or your pain. Real love requires truth, accountability, and growth. Without those,
love becomes a cover for dysfunction.
Recognizing the Signs
Sis, let’s talk red flags. Maybe you’ve been:
Giving more than you’re receiving, carrying the weight of two people while your own
needs go unmet.
- Silencing yourself to keep the peace, holding back your truth just so the house doesn’t
shake. - Believing promises without change, stuck in a cycle of apologies that never lead to
transformation.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re fading away while trying to keep someone else whole, that’s not
love—that’s bondage.
When God Says Leave
Leaving isn’t weakness. Sometimes leaving is obedience.
There comes a moment when God whispers, “Daughter, enough.” He never called you to stay
stuck in a love that drains you. His Word says:
“Come out of them, my people, so that you will not share in their sins, so that you will not
receive any of their plagues.” — Revelation 18:4
That means there’s a time to walk away. Not in rebellion, but in reverence. Not in bitterness, but
in obedience to God’s call for your freedom and peace.
Self-Rediscovery
Here’s the beauty: when you leave what was breaking you, you make room for God to rebuild
you.
Self-rediscovery is about finding the woman behind the mask—the one who laughs again,
dreams again, and believes again. It’s about reclaiming your voice, your vision, and your value.
You’re not just “getting over” someone—you’re stepping into the woman God always knew you
were.
Faith Perspective
Love is powerful but love without God’s truth is powerless. God is love, and where He is absent,
chaos reigns. Don’t confuse endurance with covenant. Don’t mistake pain for purpose. The same
God who said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) also said He came to
give you life—and life more abundantly (John 10:10).
Conclusion: When Love Isn’t Enough
Sis, remember this: God never called you to stay chained in a love that drains instead of uplifts.
Sometimes the most powerful act of love is the one you give yourself—by walking away.
It’s not the end of your story. It’s the beginning of your freedom.
✨ When love isn’t enough, let God’s love carry you into healing, wholeness, and hope.

I stand not only as an author, but as a Black woman business owner who knows what it means to
rebuild from the ground up. My mission is simple: to help other women find their voice, reclaim
their power, and reign boldly as the queens they were created to be. Sis, you are not meant to
survive in silence—you were designed to rise in strength, in faith, and in purpose.
